Doing photography as a side business has been hard. As I have a full time teaching job, I have not been able to put much time into advertising and networking. As such, my business has not grown very quickly, and I don't get many paying jobs or outside clients. But, I have been lucky in knowing some great models. I've photographed several beautiful families, a very cool actor and the theater group he works with, elegant classical musicians, stylish former students, a glowing expectant mother and her family... and now, the beautiful dancer, Madoka! I actually taught Madoka as a high school student maybe fifteen years ago. Even at that time she was obsessed with dance, and practiced all the time. I saw her perform once and was enchanted by her performance. Now, she has grown into a beautiful woman and is still pursuing her dream of doing dance for a living. She is a dance instructor at a studio, and hopes to start her own studio some day, along with her husband. Her husband is a hair stylist. They also have a very cute son, who I photographed about a year ago. This time, the purpose was to help advertise Madoka's dance business. We went to a park in the evening, hoping to catch the "golden light." The parking lot had already closed (we parked at a convenience store) so there were very few people in the park, which is always a bonus in crowded Japan. The weather was perfect May weather, warm, but not hot, and we enjoyed a nice time in the park. Madoka has worked very hard at dance for many years, and is passionate about her work, so if you are looking for a jazz dance instructor, please contact her. Her blog site is: https://madokadance.wordpress.com/
Her most recent blog post is a very nice post about our photo session, in Japanese of course.
