Street Photography with Jed ジェドとストッリート撮影

For me, photography is mostly a solo venture. Of course, photographing people entails social interaction, but the relationship is one of photographer and subject, and the discussion is usually not about photography. And, for landscape or creative photography, I have found that it is better to go alone. People quickly get impatient when they have to wait while I fiddle with my camera, trying to get a shot. But, yesterday I had the rare pleasure of walking the streets of downtown Nagoya with a fellow photographer, Jed. Jed lived in Japan for years, but is now living in Australia, trying to grow his photography business, among other ventures. I hadn't seen Jed in a long time, but after grabbing a couple of Chu-hi's from the convenience store, we quickly busted out our cameras. We compared settings, suggested techniques, practiced panning, set up tri-pods for long exposures, sat on the sidewalk photographing passing pedestrians... We were like two kids who were given a free night to play. I had a great time and didn't want the night to end. Here are some of my shots from last night. Jed probably has a lot of similar shots, but he is busy catching up with people in Japan, so I got to post mine first! Ha ha. Anyway, I'm already looking forward to Jed's next visit, so we can go do another shoot together.
