After picking up a lens I had repaired at the Canon Repair Center in Fushimi, I stopped in front of the Canon building to take out my camera. A security guard had been watching me since entering the building, and I could tell he became suspicious when I kneeled down with my camera bag. But, there was a mirrored spherical sculpture in front of the building that I wanted to photograph, so I approached it anyway. But, sure enough, as soon as I lifted my camera, he came rushing towards me. I managed one shot before he told me I could not photograph there. I did explain that I had just had a lens repaired there and wanted to try it out (though that was not actually the lens I was using), and that I had thought taking photos on the street was legal anywhere, but he said I had to be on the far side of the sidewalk. Anyway, I had my photo, so I left.
